You are invited to start your own Groundhog Club Chapter to carry on the tradition of Punxsutawney Phil and Groundhog Day wherever you might be! By starting a Chapter with your friends and neighbors, your group will be the official celebrators of Groundhog Day in your area! Start your chapter online now by following the directions below.
Getting Started
- Complete a Chapter application here and send it along with a one-time Chapter fee $35.
- Have each of your Chapter’s members join the Groundhog Club ($15.00 fee per member per year). Go to “Join the Club”, or just click here: online chapter membership application.
- You may also add a Chapter Banner for an additional fee of $45. They are not required but is an option. The Banners take 2-3 weeks for production and shipping.
What you will receive as an Official Groundhog Club Chapter:

An official Groundhog Club Chapter Certificate
- A listing of your Chapter's activities, including descriptions and pictures of your chapter’s events, in the Official “Groundhogese” Newsletter (published quarterly and mailed or emailed to each member), and a listing on the Groundhog Club Website, www.groundhog.org.
- A package containing surprise gifts from Punxsutawney Phil to help make your Chapter’s Groundhog Day celebration spectacular.
- The peace of mind knowing that you are helping to carry on the tradition of Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, the Prognosticator of all Prognosticators, the one and only true weather predicting Groundhog!!!
By becoming members of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, each of your chapter’s members will receive:

An official membership card signed by the official keeper of the Legend of Punxsutawney Phil, the President of the Groundhog Club.

A copy of the “Official Proclamation” made annually on February 2.
- Advance email notifications of Groundhog Day related activities throughout the year.
- An invitation to the members-only reception held by the Inner Circle in Punxsutawney on February 1st, where you will learn of all the happenings for Groundhog Day and mingle with your fellow club members.
- Free admission to Gobbler's Knob throughout the year upon presentation of your Membership Card (Entrance to Gobbler's Knob is free anyway, but we need some use for the card!!).
After you become an Official Groundhog Club Chapter:
- Celebrate Groundhog Day robustly and heartily, and forever defend and protect the reputation of the only true weather predicting groundhog - Punxsutawney Phil!
- Report your activities and events to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club for inclusion in the “Groundhogese” Newsletter and on www.groundhog.org.
- Spread the love of Groundhog Day to everyone in your area!!
- Each of your members needs to join the club you can send us their $15.00 fee or send them to our join the club page.
