What to Expect

Plan accordingly for your visit to Gobbler's Knob!

Plan Ahead for Your Visit

Groundhog Day is an experience of a lifetime. Maybe it is on your bucket list, or maybe it falls on your birthday — or maybe you simply want to experience the Legend of Punxsutawney Phil. Whatever your reason — Groundhog Day is an event and holiday for everyone!

The Celebration

The 2019 Celebration of Groundhog Day will take place from Friday, February 1st through Sunday, February 3rd — with Phil’s Prognostication on February 2nd (of course!)! Throughout the entire celebration, you can expect many different things.

Activities

We have activities for all ages and for all different likings! All throughout the town of Punxsutawney, you will find many different events. The majority of the places are within walking distance of each other, so find a parking spot for the day, and get out and have some fun.

Amenities

If you’re at Gobbler’s Knob for Phil’s Prognostication, you can expect to find a concession stand, information booth, porta-potties, a bonfire, souvenir tent, emergency services, and a ton of Phil’s Phans!

If you are interested in getting something from the concession stand and the souvenir tent at Gobbler’s Knob, we recommend you bring cash to make your purchases.

Weather

Gobbler’s Knob is a rustic location, and you can expect to be standing for quite some time in weather that can be anywhere from 32 degrees to -5 degrees. Be prepared for whatever type of weather there might be! Check the weather for Punxsutawney before you pack! Our zip code is 15767.

Our strongest recommendation is to keep your feet warm! Wear appropriate footwear and a hat!

  • It is recommended that small children do not attend.
  • It is standing room only.
