Autograph Signing  Meet and Greet With Kristina Marinkovich Miss Us Universal on Wed. Feb. 1st

1pm-2pm  and 4pm-5pm in the Celebration Tent in Barclay Square

Kristina Marinkovich was born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology in 2008 and her Masters in Health Management Systems in 2010. Currently, she is employed by the Chan Soon-Shiong Institute of Molecular Medicine at Windber, in Windber PA, where she is the Clinical Administrative Coordinator for an up and coming pharmacogenomics laboratory.

Kristina is very involved and active in her community. She sits on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greater Johnstown, is a mentor for the Beginnings Inc. Jr. Board, and is active on the committees for the local Bandshell Bark and the annual Cambria-Somerset Heart Ball for the American Heart Association. Kristina is also an active member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Johnstown, PA, where she sings and is Vice President of the choir, secretary of the Circle of Serbian Sisters, and volunteers at various church functions and events. She is also the Chairperson of the Cambria-Somerset Outstanding Young Woman Scholarship Program that awards scholarship dollars to junior girls in high school. Kristina has been involved in the arts for over 27 years. She has experience in many different dance genres, has performed in musicals, and also plays the saxophone and clarinet (which she is still actively playing in a community concert band). Today, she continues to share her love of dance with her dance and color guard students.

Recently, Kristina was crowned Ms. US Universal 2016 at the US Universal pageant held in Reno, Nevada. She ventured to the pageant proudly representing her state as well as Johnstown, as Ms. Pennsylvania. Kristina also won the top awards for interview, evening gown, and platform. As Ms. Pennsylvania she proudly spoke about her platform, H.E.A.L.T.H.Y.- Helping Everyone Achieve a Lifestyle To a Healthy You. In partnership with the Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center (formerly Windber Medical Center) and to further promote her platform, Kristina published a cookbook, “H.E.A.L.T.H.Y. Eats”. All proceeds from cookbook sales are going to purchase stationary bikes to be donated to area schools as part of the National “Read and Ride” program, which planning is already in the works with Kristina’s Alma Mater, Greater Johnstown. It is her goal to start a program in every school district and Catholic school in Cambria and Somerset Counties and at least one district in each county in Pennsylvania. Kristina is very excited to promote the system’s motto of “Dare. Dream. Believe.” and her H.E.A.L.T.H.Y. platform for the next year and then heading to London, England to compete for the title of Ms. Universal in September 2017.
