This will be the official opening of the Trail! Come enjoy it for the first time with us! The official ribbon cutting will be at 2 p.m.

Non-Profit Showcase

Come learn how to get involved in local non-profit groups or see what great events are coming up!

Free to attend!

Food and drinks will be available for purchase at a concession stand. All proceeds for the concession stand will go toward the Gobbler’s Knob Trail Maintenance Fund.

Punxsutawney Groundhog Club-The GHC has a lot of great events planned for the summer and fall 2014. Stop by and get more information!

Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center- PWDC is an interactive science center where the science and folklore of weather collide! “Become” a tornado, “Make a Thunderstorm”and much more!

Punxsutawney Chamber of Commerce- Through the collective efforts, the Chamber advocates the economic, civic, commercial, cultural, industrial, and educational growth of the community. Come learn about upcoming events and how to get involved!

P.E.O. International-Philanthropic Educational Organization for women that provides loans and scholarships for women of all ages working on all levels of higher education.

Punxsutawney Area Historical & Genealogical Society- Preservation & Education about Punxsutawney Area history though programs, exhibits, & tours. New members/volunteers are welcome any time.

Jefferson County Housing Authority- J.C.H.A. will be handing out information regarding low income housing and answering any questions about available programs.

Community Action, Inc. -Community Action is a private non-profit whole mission is to provide and coordinate activities dedicated to solving social and economic problems of the community.

Coal Memorial- Committee of PRIDE- The Committee is working to develop a memorial to recognize the contributions of those who worked in the coal industry in the Punxsutawney area.

Punxsutawney Area Rails-to-Trails Association, Inc.-a non-profit corporation formed to develop the abandoned railroad corridors in the Punxsutawney Area for recreational use, named the trail after the creek that it parallels and Punxsutawney's famous resident, Phil.

"We Care" Pregnancy Crisis Center- Helping moms that are facing unwanted or unplanned pregnancies & parents/guardians of children age 2 & younger through education, the supply of material needs & emotional support through peer counseling to provide a better quality of life.



Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson County- Promoting BBBs of Jefferson County & the need for the mentors in the program.

Willow Run Sanctuary-Not-For-Profit Organization Dedicated To The Well-Being Of All Animals.
